Aussie victorious at Hungary

28.7.2014 Formula

Firstly, I’m writing in English although my native is Finnish to get more readers from abroad.

Smiling Australian Daniel Ricciardo took his second win of his young career in Hungary. The race started on a damp track and safety car was first needed on lap nine, when Swedish Marcus Ericsson’s Caterham slammed to the wall on turn 3. Williams blew up their pit stop with Valtteri Bottas and he finished 8th position.

Ricciardo overtook Fernando Alonso three laps from the finish. Lewis Hamilton was third and Nico Rosberg was fourth. After the race, the German wasn’t happy because Hamilton didn’t obey the team order and let him through. This could be a start for an already intense battle for the championship and it could led to team change for Hamilton.

Some people are worried about decreasing spectators of races and they have figured out how to save the sport. F1-reporter Adam Cooper wrote on his blog about a possibility to add ballast of success for F1-races just like DTM-touring car series. That idea is completely useless. Why on earth you have to punish a winning team by putting some extra weight?
My ideas for increasing F1’s popularity are simple. Get rid of the DRS, set restrictions to overtake button and let the drivers race hard but fair without giving penalties because the tyres just hit each other.

Audi team won the thrilling and exiting 24 hours of Spa, The race included many crashes and a red flag, when two Ferrari’s collided. BMW team with a Finn Markus Palttala came second only seven seconds behind the leaders.
